Offering team training five times a week under the Tysons Playground roof, the Black and Red Barbell Club carries the mission of improving weightlifting proficiency and positioning individuals for success both inside and outside the gym. We do so through both art and science. With experienced coaches and athletes, the Black & Red Barbell Club provides a comprehensive approach to the sport of weightlifting.
The Black & Red principles include:
-The chase of perfection: every rep is an opportunity to do a perfect rep.
-Insistence on the highest standards: we have fun, but we also encourage everybody to productively be the best they can be, in and out of the gym.

-The ability to dig deep: like most good things in life, what we do is hard work; learn to develop physiological, emotional, and psychological resilience.
-Enjoyment in the grind: related to digging deep, you have to be willing to put in the work, and "suffer" now to be prepared for when it counts.

The Black & Red Barbell Club is pleased to announce the start of it’s Snatch and Clean & Jerk Introductory Clinic. This clinic spans 3 weeks of hands-on coaching and training to help individuals familiarize themselves with the “classic lifts” and help athletes develop their positioning, coordination, flexibility and balance to allow them to improve their general fitness or continue their weightlifting career. Athletes will learn the movements in detail, learn and incorporate drills for each lift, and hear feedback from coaches to improve their technique. Sessions will include warm-up, mobility work and technique work.
